Triad National Security, LLC, the new contractor for Los Alamos National Laboratory, announced to the community Wednesday the corporation will be paying gross receipts taxes. The announcement is expected to ease the concerns of Los Alamos County officials who faced budget deficits of millions of dollars without the GRT income.

Deputy County Manager Steve Lynn told Los Alamos County Council in July the county could have lost an estimated $22 million in GRT taxes, according to the latest figures released by the state Legislature.

Triad is scheduled to take over management of the lab November 1.
